We Don't Rock

Coming to you via Boom Boom Chik, "Dolby Anol are based in Glasgow and in Berlin. It is made up of John Baillie Jnr and Graham Peel who make electronic music tailored for the dancefloor of a party: house, smashed up disco, pop, techno, you name it...

They've been getting played out by Boys Noize, MSTRKRFT, Annie Mac, Kissy Sell Out, Drop the Lime, Meat Katie etc. They've been playing at clubs across the world, from NYC to Moscow and all over Europe plus a spot on the BBC Introducing stages at Glastonbury and Creamfields in 2008.

The track We Dont Rock is pretty sweet. The vocoder vocals catch you immediatly, and the beat, which reminds me of Daft Punk, will make your feet tap."

World's First Interactive Music Video

The UK's Unicorn Kid has helped develop a world first - an interactive music video.

You control the editing between the live action and game within it.

How it works...

The game follows Unicorn Kid, a.k.a Oli Sabin on a Mario-esque adventure to find his stolen ‘Lion Hat’. There are over 300 routes Oli can take to find the Lion Hat but only one is correct.

The video is very interactive because can move the ‘Propensity’ of the screen shot by moving the slide bar on the screen. This allows you to see more of Unicorn Kid or more of the animated Mario-esque character defending on your preference. You can also change the ‘Cut Parameters’ using the slide bar. These allow you to edit the length of the shot you are looking at.

The game itself is actually played by searching the screen for clues and then moving the game control in accordance with these clues. (e.g. If you see lots of blue squares on the screen then move the slide bar to the left turning it into a blue square. If you see yellow triangles, move the slide bar to the right until it turns into a yellow triangle). There is a count down every 30 seconds or so and you have to have made your decision by then.

The music video will continue playing regardless of whether you make the right decision or not but at the end you will know if you have passed or failed. If you’re doing well, lots of Mario-esque characters will appear on the screen towards the end of the song.

When you reach the final battle there is a 50/50 chance of winning the game and entering the competition. The winner will be selected through a prize draw on the 9th of June at the Unicorn Kid’s headline show at King Tuts in Glasgow and could win £1000.

Mr Hudson and Mr. West

Kanye's new act, Mr. Hudson, is ready to hit the world, and it seems as though he is going for Chris Martin's(Coldplay) jugular. Mr. Hudson's voive is eerily similar to Martins, but I'm sure that Kanye will take him to the top either way. The new album Straight No Chaser, drops on August 3rd, but until than you can enjoy this small mix as an introduction to his work and his new single, "Supernova".

Let Me Love You Like You're The Shit Girl

Since Caspa remixed over Deadmau5, Nero on The Streets , and the huge success of Skream's remix for La Roux, the harder and more electronic dubstep sound is definately one of the most interesting genre fusions happening lately. However if your a unwaivering dubplate culture creature the latter is just the opposite.

With that in mind, and the fact that both many dubstep artists are not even signed and tracks are unmastered we find UK dubstep producer Nero (aka Nero UK). Nero has been attempting to change this for a few years now and here is just another exmaple of that. It's no surprise that New York-based electro disco party-harders Boy Crisis (pictured above) got remixed by Nero, for the UK release of their new single "Dressed to Digress".

Boy Crisis - Dressed to Digress (Nero Remix)

Trancehall chords bring forth the beginning of the song tempting you with a dark cast. The wobble and bass leads into a heavy drop that brings pure destruction, inevitably directing heavy headnodding and skanking mayhem all over the dancefloor.
