Kick It Old Skool, Nu Skool, F*ck Skool, With Carbek

Coming straight from Cophenhagen are the adolescent duo of Frits Carøe(14) and Adam Emil Schierbeck(16) that make up Carbeck. The two toyed around with everything from acid jazz, break beat, drum and bass, and dubstep. But lately chose to change their genere to Tech Mininmal, which fits perfectly into the overall Danish club scene right now. These boys are about to do big big things, watch out for them!

I need to thank Data Sapiens for these tracks from Carbeck that have been playing on repeat all day on my speakers..

autoKratz To Release An Animal

autoKratz are an electro-indie band based in London. The duo made up of David and Russell have their debut album Animal, is set to drop June 26th on Kitsune.

"We are extremely proud to have created a diverse and varied album. It has lots of different levels yet something the ties it all together. It's an honest album about us as people, and I think thats why it works. But there's no overall theme. If you tread the road of concept you may well find yourself on Bat Out Of Hell corner. Which is more of a junction. With all the signs facing in wrong directions. And the scent of a fat man with breasts wafting in the breeze," said David

Los Amigos Invisibles

Nacional Records multiple Grammy-nominated artist Los Amigoa Invisibles, are set to release their sixth studio album Commericial tomorrow. Commercial features guests like Mexican songstess Natalia Lafourcade and production work from Dimitri From Paris. Not to mention the song, "Mentiras", which is already a radio hit in Latin America.

"Along the way we have met many musicians we admire and in the best scenario we always end our conversations saying, "we should do something together one day,"" says lead guitarist and primary songwriter Jose Luis Pardo. "There is an added value in sending the tracks away, then getting them back from guests, producers or engineers and just being blown away. I love surprises."

Los Amigos Invisibles spent two years working on Commercial during breaks in their heavy tour schedule. "The title of the album came out of our desire to make a more accessible record for even bigger crowds," Pardo explains. "At first, we were hesitant to use the word but eventually we decided to come straight and use it as a concept. In a world where almost no one listens to an entire album and everyone has their thumb ready to press "next" in their iPods, we just wanted to be more focused without taking out what we love about playing."

Shout, Shout, Let It All Out!

On my daily scour routine of the web for music and the likes, I always find myself loving the Danger! Danger! blog. There is always some comic relief which I deem as necessary for any blog and great music. They have come coming through like Derek Jeter for the Yankees and introducing me to David Elijah Rose...

Some words from Danger! Danger!: "And I have to say, I have in the most trust in David Elijah Rose that he will do great things. ‘Cause this remix of Tears For Fears is the fucking bomb. It’s pure brilliance. And as I said before, I don’t like to be the voice of taste, but this is some heavy-pounding cut-up electro that will make the Gods cry."

Pre Party Jamz Vol.47: Reid Speed

Reid Speed on her mix:

"With this mix, I wanted to do something a little different. Instead of giving you what I’d listen to before going out to party with my friends, I wanted to share my mind / body trip of traveling to play a show. I spend a lot of time alone in public places; in airports, hotels, and in cars and clubs with ever-new groups of strangers (who often by the end of the night become friends) before sharing my soul with hundreds or thousands of people. I find this to be both exhilarating and alienating. This journey starts from home to flying, to the airport in a new city, a car ride to the hotel, a little introspection, a workout, dinner, some self doubt, a shower, the necessary ego pump, and of course, the main event, the thrill of being up there, the WHY I do what I do ... but also the insanity of adoration, the constant fear of failure, and ultimately, the bittersweet reality of heading back to the hotel alone after the party and the afterparty are all done ... I hope you feel me." via Nicky Digital

Everyone Wants A Bruise Like This

Amidst the revival of psychedelic music in the New York underground, Chairlift has chosen to work closely with musical associations within their own generation, shifting between pop-art jingles, synthesizer-heavy film soundtracks, and DIY basement beats to project an organic portrait of the young blood raised on Lite-Brites, riding the transition from analog to digital. Here is the official video for their song "Bruises", which was directed by Timothy Saccenti.

You may have heard this one featured on NPR, or in an Apple commercial for a new iPod Nano. The truth is: Chairlift‘s ”Bruises“ has a catchy beat and a quirky chorus no one can deny.

Harper Boogie

"Harper Boogie is a name that has cropped up in various places I frequent online over the past few years. Gradually, I found out that it belongs to a dude named Marcin, who has a radio show in Poland, and as time has gone by he's always been very supportive of my mixes, giving them airtime inna Polish land.

My interest in all things Polish has been piqued by a recent visit to Krakow and Warsaw (see previous post - http://bassmusicblog.com/krakow-liveow ) so when Marcin sent over a mix for the blog, I thought I'd ask him a few questions about working in radio and the music scene in Poland in general, ENJOY!" written Bass Music. Pretty Young Thing

So this past weekend, I had my fair share of fun with one of my best friends, Aimee and her sister Courtney. Leaving out all the great details, I must share her theme song "PYT" by Michael Jackson because its f-ing great.

"P.Y.T. (Pretty Young Thing)" is a song by American recording artist Michael Jackson. The original demo version of the song was written by the singer and Greg Phillinganes for Jackson's sixth solo album, Thriller (1982). This original demo version of the song was totally re-done to a more up-tempo beat by James Ingram and producer Quincy Jones. The pair were thus credited with the writing of the song. Two of Jackson's sisters, Janet and La Toya, provided backing vocals in the guise of the P.Y.T.s.

"P.Y.T. (Pretty Young Thing)" was released on September 19, 1983, as the penultimate single from Thriller. The single charted at number 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 and number 46 on the R&B singles chart, becoming the sixth Top 10 hit from the album. In the UK, the song reached a peak position of 11. The single was most successful in Belgium, charting within the Top 10 at number 6. "P.Y.T. (Pretty Young Thing)" has been covered and sampled by numerous artists, including Monica, Justin Guarini and Kanye West. The original demo was also remixed by Black Eyed Peas singer will.i.am for Thriller 25.
